Huber Inc. USA

ABOUT US

Tom Huber founded Huber Incorporated in 1967, as a distributor of hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, with two employees - himself and a secretary. She is still with him today and the company has grown. With two locations, one in Jefferson, of Greater New Orleans, Louisiana, and the other in Broussard, in the outskirts of Lafayette, Louisiana, Huber Incorporated is still providing hydraulic equipment. Huber today also designs, fabricates, installs and maintains hydraulic systems.

In the early days, Tom Huber, the company's founder wore many hats - salesman, systems designer, project manager and everything else in-between. Huber Incorporated's steady growth continued as the company started getting contracts from Avondale Shipbuilders for marine projects. One such project was to design and build a hydraulics system for a sludge barge. The company's growth really took off in the early eighties when the company received a sizable contract to design and build an extensive central hydraulics system for a chemical plant.

Huber Incorporated was becoming a serious player in not just selling other peoples hydraulic and pneumatics systems - but in designing, fabricating and selling their own. Huber, Inc. designed, fabricated and supplied fluid power systems with programmable logic controllers whereby most applications in the production facilities operated 80% to 90% of the time - annually. Because of these successes Huber, Inc. invested in the latest computer aided design system, updated burning and welding machinery, as well as the professional personnel required to operate such systems.

Their attention to detail, ingenuity and honest hard work paid off when they received their contract from J RAY McDermott to design and fabricate a hydraulic system for a launch barge that was constructed in Japan. Having travelled to Japan three times, Huber Incorporated has also been to Ireland and criss-crossed the continental United States designing and fabricating systems for both marine and land based applications.

Huber Incorporated's marine applications included work on U.S. Naval combat vessels. Said such vessels require equipment to meet military specifications for Grade A shock, airborne noise and vibration. Huber Incorporated's quality control program complies with MIL-1 inspection requirements, and all welders are certified for the numerous materials and procedures employed in complex fabrications.

The late nineties saw significant growth for Huber Incorporated when they were contracted by the Marine Service Response Corp (MSRC) to design, fabricate and install large central hydraulic systems that operated 34 pieces of equipment. Not only did Huber Incorporated's designs have to now have the muscle to perform the mandated task - now they had to be smart. Huber Incorporated once again excelled at the task at hand and designed complex computerized control systems to manage the powerful hydraulic systems.

Now in the new millenium, Huber Incorporated's continued growth means moving into services and the design of specialty equipment like moon pool hatch covers, A-frames for vessels, installation of hydraulic piping for marine and land based installations. Huber Incorporated has had a long tradition of fulfilling the demanding needs of large scale industries that require smart, hydraulic systems to perform important perfunctory operations.

Huber, Incoporated's continued growth can be attributed to its personnel, who design, supply and support equipment that meets all customer specifications in the most reliable and cost effective manner - as well as - exceeding the customer's expectations. Huber Incorporated's mission is to provide the best expertise in design, fabrication, implementation and maintenance in smart hydraulic systems. Whether the application be for a US military or naval application serving and protecting this great nation or for a land based application requiring the moving of materials through the implementation of smart hydraulics systems, Huber Incorporated focuses on three simple tasks - SMART, POWER, MOVING. And doing those tasks better than anyone.
